I know I have been
keeping everyone hanging and in the dark with the progress of
the GTi. I am sorry about that. It has been raining outside
on the weekends and I have been busy with work on the weekdays
and it has been hard to get things done. Below is a picture
of the box of some of the stuff I have replaced so far. Not
everything is shown that has been replaced as I list below.
I will be updating everyone once it is back up and running with
the new stuff and I will tell everyone how everything feels
once it is up and running. Thanks guys and keep being patient!
Things that have been replaced so far:
--Sachs Clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing (Thanks
to Kelly at MJM Autohaus with the awesome deal on the clutch!
--OEM spark plug wires (Thanks to Kelly again for those!)
--Spark plugs
--OEM bolts to hold pressure plate and flywheel
--OEM bolts for CV axles
--Remanufactured CV axles (Thanks to Kelly once again!)(not
shown)
--OEM cap and rotor
--OEM fuel filter (not shown)
--OEM air filter(not shown)
--OEM oil filter and Mobile 1 oil(not shown)
--USRT SmartShift linkage kit (Thanks Scott and write-up will
be coming soon!)
--New battery cables and better grounds (not shown)
--New "green cap" for transmission to stop leaking (not shown)
--New OEM input shaft seal (not shown)
So, as you can tell, we have been replacing everything so it
can run in tip top shape. As I said before, another update will
come in the next day or so. |
