Ok I got all the
transmission out and replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throw
out bearing, and input shaft seal. It wasn't too bad so I am
happy I didn't run into any major problems. Below are some pictures
of the swap as it was going along and pictures of some comparisons
of a few of the parts that I was upgrading. I will have a write-up
on the shift kit I bought for the GTi. It feels great! Other
than that it was pretty straight forward. There were a lot of
other parts replaced as you can read in the other update. Next
I need to find a cat-back exhuast for it, get the dual outlet
8v manifold and downpipe and a better catalytic converter. After
that some suspension and sway bars. Then I will move to the
interior and get the headliner re-upolstered and then put a
little CD player in there with some decent speakers. After all
that is over then I should be getting the body work done and
then off to the paint job. Hopefully some BBS RM's will be on
this baby sometime soon but we will see. I will keep everyone
