New post Putting together a sound system
Ok guys, i'm trying to put together a sound system, so here's where i'm at so far.

1 Single-dim Kenwood Headunit - Installed
1 Kenwood EQ - Installed
2 12" JL Audio subwoofers in a box not ported (no clue on power rms/max) - Installed (thrown) in trunk
1 Boss Amp (shitty) - installed wired to subs
1 vr3 amp (?? super shitty!) - designated for 6x9s

Now, i've got a '94 BMW 318is so I basically need 2 6x9s, 2 tweeters, and 2 kickpanel speakers (I believe 5 1/4).
Soo, all of this in mind, can anyone hook me up? I recall a couple members saying something about an ebay vendor acct, so if anyone does car audio, i'm totally interested! Anyone have any recommendations on brands and how to install those 6x9s in the back?

If I recall stock size in rear is not 6x9. Just a heads up my car has upgraded speakers all around and with front 4in and rear 6x9s I HATE the way it sounds....way to powerful from rear. As far as buying speakers go i've had good luck with prices from http://www.sonicelectronix.com/ . There reviews arent half bad either. As far as brands, there are so many and good is so subjective. I can say though I had a set of nice infinity's and they were a waste of money so id look at other brands, maybe mtx or kicker. Depends on music you listen to as well.

Hello and thanks for the reply! for the rear speakers, i've read that they can be installed instead of the 5 1/2s but it's a tight fit and they may also have to be raised.
I do wonder if 6x9s would be overkill though. Thanks for the link, there are some deals on there.
Any other vendors? I always seem to buy audio then find something twice as good for half as much a day later.

You can look around but i find sonic to be unbeatable price wise. I think it would be overkill, if your going to have a sub, then a good 5 1/4 will be all the mid and high you need. Or see about fitting a 6in, I feel you can find better mids with this size.
