Ok, I got my last dog from here and there were a lot of dogs and puppies that needed adoption whenever I went there. I encourage you all to at least go and look at the puppies and get one when you get a chance. They also have cats there. They dont have a bright future without a good home to put them in. So please, check out the website and try to get down there if you can.

Huge props to you Ruben for doing the right thing!

The city of San Antonio will euthanize nearly 50,000 this year (per NPR)

A great deal of respect goes out to anyone who is trying to part of the solution.:-)

Twelve dogs and seven cats have been added to this site tonight http://www.PetAdoptionSA.com, photos taken on Thursday in the Animal Care Services Adoption Center. Take a peek if you have time.

Among the cats are several absolutely gorgeous Maine Coons, a glamorous ragdoll, beautiful orange kitties ... you need to take a peek at all of them. They are truly beautiful.

Among the dogs coming into the adoption center today ... a gorgeous black labrador retriever, the most adorable little Corgi mix ever, a Jack Russell mix, quite a number of small & cute terriers who are sooooo irresistable! Once again, the adoption center runneth over with PUPPIES PUPPIES PUPPIES. All shapes, sizes, colors ... you name it, it's there!

On behalf of the beautiful homeless animals in the San Antonio Animal Care Services Adoption Center, thank you for forwarding this message!

Animal Care Services desperately needs people who are willing to take very young puppies/kittens who are too young for the adoption center, or dogs/cats who only have a ‘cold’, into their homes and foster them until they are able to be admitted to the adoption center to move on to their forever homes. If you are able to provide this valuable service, please contact Cheryl Bodenhamer at CBodenhamer@satx.rr.com or (210) 822-9403. Cheryl will guide you through this process, train you, support you, etc. Cheryl will be your mentor!

Currently there are two dogs who are nursing mothers with puppies but there is no place to house them at Animal Care Services and we have exhausted all our available foster homes.

Won’t you please consider providing this EXTREMELY VALUABLE & LIFESAVING SERVICE to the homeless animals of San Antonio, who find themselves at Animal Care Services?

Thank you in advance for forwarding this message!

I appreciate all of your responses in wanting to help with our animal friends. At the present time, we do not know how many animals we can get into foster care. many of you have many questions about the safety and expense of fostering. It is always wise to keep any animal brought home away from your pets. A lot of the contagious diseases in animals are spread through the respiratory system or stools. Good hand washing, keeping your animals from going nose to nose and good hand washing will help keep the diseases from spreading. A lot of the expense of fostering is medicines. We do have some pretty wonderful vets out there helping us keep costs down. If there is a problem with cost, let us know and we can try to find assistance. You will not be forced to keep an animal you are not comfortable with or cannot give what is needed. Most will be puppies/kittens that are too young to adopt out. I am sending you two forms. One is the Foster Care Application and the other is the Foster Care Contract. Both will give you a better idea of what is expected. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me and I will be happy to answer your questions.

I forgot to say, if you are still interested in fostering fill out the foster application and bring it to ACS, fax it to me (822-9403) or mail it to ACS Attn: Foster program

If you want those documents download them here --> http://www.strictlyea.com/sapetadoptions/

Doesnt matter. They actually have "test tube" animials to where they can get rid of the gene that makes the dander or whatever makes you allergic to them. Its very expensive to get this done, but you can have an animal that wont make you sneeze. Kinda cool actually, and a lil scary.

Great for people with money, but until I finish my BSME and Law school I'm broke. My son will be like 10 years old then. Hell, I'll still be broke until student loans are paid off.

You go there, find one, pay like $50 and walk out with a dog. It's super simple.
